Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1969 Lee Johnson has had a passion for music since childhood. After moving to the states in the early 1970's, his parents encouraged lessons on piano and guitar. Lee had bands starting in the 7th grade and learned to imitate his favorite guitarists by ear, without scratching the vinyl!
Lee's performance background includes being a singer songwriter and guitarist in blues, southern rock and bluegrass influenced bands as well as being hired as a guitarist in blues and country bands. Lee started playing out in the club circuit at 19 years old in 1988 around Boulder and Denver, and quickly rose to status as a sought after guitarist.
Lee went to college in Boulder, which netted him a BA in Environmental Conservation. At that time Lee realized his true calling was to be a full time musician, so he attended music and sound technology school for a 2nd
BA at UCD Denver in the early 90's.
During the late 90's thru early 2000's Lee was one of the front men singer/songwriter/leadguitarists for Jam-Grass pioneers "Runaway Truck Ramp" who released 2 full length CD's and tourned nationally to a loyal crowd of festivarians.
Subsequently Lee played for a short time with Alt Country locals "Bucksikin Stallion and was featured on their 2004 debut CD "Blue Ribbon Buzz" as a lead guitar and lap steel guitar player.
Currently Lee is forging ahead with the craft of songwriting. The main goals are to write songs to pitch to other artists and with other artists. He has considered recording and releasing a debut solo CD but decided to put that on hold. Nothing would give Lee more pleasure than to get some songs placed with established or upcoming artists.
